MGB welcomes new Board Members

White River – The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (“MGB”) today welcomed six new Board Members, appointed by the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism in the Province, Skhumbuzo Eric Kholwane.

The new Board Members are appointed to serve as non-executive board members of the MGB, for a period of three years, effective from 01 July 2015. The new members are:

  1. Mrs Patricia Zenani Nora Fakude-Nkuna (as Chairperson);
  2. Mr David Sandile Skhosana;
  3. Mr Mandlakayise Sam Mthembu;
  4. Ms Gaylene Anne Deiner;
  5. Mr Thabang Makwetla (representing the provincial department of Economic Development and Tourism); and
  6. Ms Vulani Baloyi (representing the provincial department of Finance).

We warmly welcome the new Board Members, each of whom brings the kind of experience and wisdom that the MGB needs to build on what it has accomplished over the last two decades. We look forward to their contributions to the Board and the efforts they will put in regulating the gambling industry.

The MEC thanked the outgoing Board for the sterling work demonstrated during their tenure. He further encouraged the new Board to execute its duties whilst being mindful of the broader government policies. He also encouraged the executive management team to continue to do its utmost to defend the good organizational culture synonymous with the MGB.

The new Chairperson, Fakude-Nkuna, thanked the MEC for welcoming the new Board and assured him of the Board’s commitment in discharging its responsibilities.
