On Friday, 04 November 2016, the Mpumalanga Gambling Board (“MGB”) destroyed 45 illegal gambling machines in Mbombela.

The Board received applications for Independent Site Operator Licence to operate limited pay-out machines in excess of 5, but not more than 40, from the following companies: 1. The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (“MGB”) officially welcomed the newly crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2016, Elaine Mkhabela, last Thursday to initiate her into her new role as the Ambassador for responsible gambling in the Province.

It brings us immense satisfaction, as the MGB to witness such a tremendous achievement by a humble young woman from our beautiful Province, whose rise to prominence started with us in 2013, when she was crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2013.

The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB) is proud to be celebrating 20 years of unbroken service delivery to the people of Mpumalanga. This key milestone is not only a reflection of the Board’s successful establishment of a gambling industry in the Province, but is also proof of its adherence to strict corporate governance and social ethics, as well as its ongoing commitment to ensure effective regulation of the industry.

On Friday, 6 November 2015, Miss Mpumalanga 2015, who is also MGB Ambassador for Responsible Gambling, Zamanene Nene attended the destruction of 34 illegal gambling machines in Mbombela. The machines were seized from illegal operations throughout the Province.
